Terms

Last updated 16 August 2026

These are the terms for using Celery, the Mac app, the iPhone app, and the service behind them. Using any of them means you accept them.

The account

You need an account to transcribe. You are responsible for what is dictated through it, and you must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live. One person, one account.

What you pay

New accounts start on a 7-day trial with no card. After that, Celery Pro is $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year, and Celery for Teams is $10.99 per member a month or $79.99 per member a year — billed through Stripe and renewing until you cancel. If you would rather not subscribe, the free plan gives you 30 minutes of transcription a month.

Cancel any time from your billing page; you keep the paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for. If something went wrong and you want your money back, email us and we will sort it out.

Fair use

Paid plans include 1,200 minutes a month, which is far more than a person can speak in a working month. Don't resell the service, run other people's audio through your account, or use it to break the law. We can suspend an account that does.

What we don't promise

Transcription is not perfect and never will be. Celery is provided as it is, without a warranty that it will be accurate, available, or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for losses that follow from using it. Read what it typed before you send it.

Your content

What you dictate is yours. We claim no rights over it, and we do not keep it — see Privacy.

Changes and endings

We may change these terms; if a change matters, we will email you before it takes effect. You can stop using Celery whenever you like, and delete your account by emailing hello@usecelery.io.
