These are the terms for using Celery, the Mac and iPhone apps, and the service behind them. Using them means you accept these terms. The iPhone app is in public beta through TestFlight.
The account
You need an account to transcribe. You are responsible for what is dictated through it, and you must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live. One person, one account.
What you pay
The free plan includes 30 minutes of dictation and one meeting of up to 30 minutes each month. Celery Basic is $9.99 a month and Celery Extended is $19.99 a month, billed through Stripe, or through the App Store if you subscribe on iPhone, and renewing until you cancel. If you subscribed to Celery Pro before these plans existed, you keep its price and allowance until you choose to switch. Team arrangements are quoted separately and only begin after you agree to them.
Cancel any time from your billing page; you keep the paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for. If something went wrong and you want your money back, email us and we will sort it out.
Fair use
Unlimited dictation on Basic and Extended means normal, interactive personal dictation into your apps. It does not cover automated transcription, continuous background recording, bulk file transcription, resale or a shared account. Meeting notes are limited to the hours your plan includes each month, three on Basic and twenty on Extended; a meeting already under way is never stopped. Don't resell the service, run other people's audio through your account, or use it to break the law. We can suspend an account that does.
What we don't promise
Transcription is not perfect and never will be. Celery is provided as it is, without a warranty that it will be accurate, available, or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for losses that follow from using it. Read what it typed before you send it.
Your content
What you dictate and the meetings you capture are yours. We claim no ownership over them. Dictation content is not retained by the service; meeting transcripts and related records are kept so the meeting feature can work until you delete them. See Privacy.
Changes and endings
We may change these terms; if a change matters, we will email you before it takes effect. You can stop using Celery whenever you like, and delete your account by emailing hello@usecelery.io.
